The story behind Marloes
Born in Zaandam and raised in Alkmaar, Marloes knows the region like the back of her hand. Outside her work she finds peace in nature, especially by the sea, and gets a lot of satisfaction from her practice as a holistic therapist and Reiki practitioner. Being in contact with people, supporting and guiding them, that is in her blood.
Her career with VLIEG began back in 2005, when she worked as a branch manager and broker-appraiser in the Purmerend office. After a period in real estate for investors and developers, she deliberately chose brokerage again – and again for VLIEG. It felt like coming home. She missed the human side of the profession too much, and that is exactly what she finds at VLIEG.
What does Marloes mean to VLIEG?
As an NVM Registered Real Estate Agent, Marloes is broadly applicable within VLIEG Alkmaar. She guides both the sale and purchase of existing homes and advises customers on new construction projects. She always looks for the right click: with the customer, but also with her colleagues. She strongly believes in working together and strengthening each other – internally and externally.
In her earlier years at VLIEG, she built up experience in a large work area within North Holland. She was known as a “flying keeper” and jumped in when needed, including special appraisals. Later she focused on growing real estate portfolios and supervising teams. Now her focus is fully back on client contact. She brings calm, overview and confidence to an often exciting time for sellers and buyers.
Her broad range of tasks gives her the space to really add value. From sales and purchases to cooperation between offices and disciplines such as mortgages and insurance – Marloes always thinks one step ahead.
For what qualities is Marloes known?
Marloes is positive, sharp and sincere. She is engaging, creative and with her upbeat personality knows how to quickly put people at ease. She looks beyond just the business transaction and strives to give each journey a personal touch. Clients feel heard and valued – especially when sensitive or far-reaching situations are involved.
A good example: a client recently indicated that she felt a click with Marloes right from the first conversation. The situation surrounding the sale was painful, but because Marloes took her time, listened and thought along with her, the client felt supported. She therefore confidently chose VLIEG.

Marloes gets great satisfaction from successful purchases for clients, especially in today’s market where that is anything but a given. If she can guide someone successfully, from first viewing to key transfer, and see a smile at the finish line, then her mission is accomplished.
She also enjoys the cooperation with her colleagues, the humor in the workplace and the small successes that are celebrated together. Outside of work she finds happiness in her family, in silence and relaxation in nature and in really being able to mean something to someone else – in work and in private.
What is her greatest success story?
The real estate profession has changed greatly over the years, but the essence has remained the same for Marloes: helping people take an important step in their lives. She is proud that she was still sworn in under the old system, and still practices her profession with the same integrity today.
A moment that has always stayed with her: her very first independent sale – a charming little house in Hippolytushoef. The seller had to say goodbye to her beloved home and garden full of flowers. Marloes found suitable new residents who maintained the character of the house. She received a home-baked cake as a thank you, and to this day she still drives by every now and then to see how the house looks.
