It is a very child-friendly area with schools, childcare, playgrounds and the Amsterdam International School within walking or short cycling distance from the house. In the immediate vicinity of the house, there are several local supermarkets, shops and specialty shops. The house is also located at a short bike ride from Amstelveen's indoor city centre with a wide range of supermarkets, shops, restaurants, a cinema, pop stage and a library. Every Friday, there is also a large market on the Stadsplein with a varied range of (fresh) stalls.
